What in the world is an "artist teddy bear"? Well, there may be some variations on how each person defines the term... but in general - an artist bear is a bear created from scratch by just one person.
The teddy bear artist will first design their own pattern, draw out onto fur (often mohair, but sometimes other furs are used) cut out, sew, stuff and assemble the bear themselves. Extra care is put into creating the face... which is often said to be "the soul" of the teddy bear. An artist bear can take as "little" time as 8 hours (straight) to complete... or as many as 36-48 hours... depending on how intricate it is.
