Kristine's Method for Armatures
You can buy the lug (aussie word) and the coated wire from a electrical supply shop or an electrician. I worked out they cost roughly 0.60c per armature compared to what you buy at bear shops. The wire is approx 5mm in dia. Don’t buy wire that is flimsy but more on the firmer side. Cut some of the plastic coating off then insert into the lug. With pliers squeeze the lugs end to secure the wire already inside the lug. Pull the wire hard and it should not come out of the lug. If it does reinsert and squeeze the lug harder. It should not come out.

Was unable to scan a joint put together. Starting from the top with the grub screw with the locknut already attached. Thread the grub screw thru the lugs hole. Then place it thru the metal washer then thru the wooden disk. Insert into the limb and thread the grub screw thru the hole in the arm. To secure the joint while stuffing place the very last locknut on the outer side of the limb on the grub screw.
Do remember if you screw and unscrew and screw your nylon thread locknuts the nylon thread is now useless. It will not secure the grub screw as well. I now have 4 locnuts that I use while stuffing. Once the limbs are finished I then remove these 4 locnuts. One from each limb and use brand new locknuts when I’m attaching the limbs to the body. I then know the nylon thread has not be continuously tampered with.
