This idea is not new...
Teddy Bear & Friends has done this many times... but I find it fun!
Everyone take the same pattern -
and let's see how different all of our bears turn out!

For this project... I don't want anyone to enlarge or reduce the pattern.
I hope everyone posts their bear's photos as they become completed! The idea is to show how each artist brings their own touch to even a basic teddy bear pattern.

I have not had a chance to make this bear yet... and it is different than my "normal" type of bear... so everyone's bears will really be a surprise!

I'm estimating his or her size to be about 9" tall or so.

A 1/4 yard of mohair / fur will be more than enough...
probably a fat 1/8th yard will do!

For joint discs I recommend 1 1/4" in the legs, and 1" in the arms and neck.
(so you'll need 4 - 1 1/4" discs, 6 - 1" discs - and the hardware of your choice (cotterpins, locknuts & bolts, setscrews...)
I have marked the joint placement on the patterns, but not the seam openings. Remember to leave an opening on each piece though! I prefer to leave openings at the top of limbs, but others prefer the sides.

Although I do not usually give permission for others to sell bears made from my patterns or kits... I DO give you permission to sell ONE bear made from this pattern if you like... as long as you mention that it was made from a free pattern for a teddy bear challenge at Edinburgh Imports Community forum!

I know many of us must be able to make money from the bears we make - and I'd love to see as many bears made as possible!
